New Short Stories by Barbara Ann Crumm

Posted by KirkUltra7 on February 23rd, 2008

Electric Child Barbara Ann Crumm has two new shorts up on her weblogThe Acid Journal: Berkley early 1998 and The General Store, two very cool and very different stories.

The Acid Journal: Berkley early 1998

This one time I was rambling around as usual. And I hooked up with this guy I met while I was working at the Burlesque show in New Orleans. He flew me out to California to see him. Ya know, to be his little lady for a while. He was this sexy, older biker guy. I was 19 at the time. He was 40ish. When I met him, I liked the way he smelled. It was this mix of a mechanic, like oils & such, cigarettes, sweat and a little bit of musk. It was an amazing turn on. He was 40, but he looked about 25-26. He worked at this foundry in the East Bay somewhere. I liked that he worked with his hands all day. I looked at his hands. All the calluses. The hard work. When he touched me it felt a little rough, but it made me get goosebumps. It excited me to think of him working all day, then touching me with working man’s hands. He reminded me of John Doe from X. Maybe that was what did it. I don’t know. I think every girl deep down like’s that “working man”. The Bruce Springsteen image. The bad boys. The classic real man. Some testosterone. Some balls. Some sweat. Not that metrosexual bullshit.

The General Store

This evening I walked to the local general store. I live 1.5 miles away from it to be exact. The reason I walked is because I just got my car reposessed. Anyway, so I need beer and smokes
and a little snack. So I decided I could use a little walk. I like walking. Even if it’s on the side
of a country highway. And even if some of the assholes that pass me on the road beep at me
or yell obscenities or call me a whore. Whatever. The same thing would happen if I was walking
down some street in LA or where-ever. People are just idiots. Actually, my walk to the store
was surprisingly relaxing. The sun was about to set. The air was envigorating me. My spirit
needed a brisk walk.

UFOs and Turkish Shamanism

Posted by KirkUltra7 on February 22nd, 2008

This is an article from the blog of Turkish ufologist Farah Yurdozu on UFOs and their relations to ancient and modern day Turkey, their shamanism, and their mythology.

Maybe that’s why in modern Turkish society UFO sightings or abduction cases are considered normal. Maybe that’s why Turkish people’s approach is extremely open minded and understanding to Extra Terrestrial contacts and visits. When there is a UFO sighting you can see the news on the front pages of the most important national papers and you can watch the coverage on prime time TV.

Bubble Pop

Posted by KirkUltra7 on February 22nd, 2008

First there was Einstein, then there was Hawking, and then came whoever invented this – The Mugen Puchi Puchi, a bubble wrap simulator on a keychain that “simulates the feeling of bubble wrap so people can enjoy the ecstatic feeling of popping those bubble wrap bubbles whenever they like.”

Newer versions feature the voice of an anime girl that pleads with you to pop more of them if you stop for fifteen seconds.

Time to go back to Japan.

UFO News

Law enforcement officers describe unidentified shape-shifting aerial craft in Stephensville, Texas:

I would say the lights my son and I watched were maybe 3,000 to 5,000 feet up in the air, and maybe not even that high. But they were spread out in a long distance. My looking at the thing with my naked eye, I’d judge it was at least a thousand feet long.

. . .

COULD YOU TALK ABOUT WHAT OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT IN THE DUBLIN AREA HAVE TALKED TO YOU ABOUT SEEING, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE RELUCTANT TO TALK PUBLICLY?

Yes. I saw a video that was taken from an in-the-dash camera (of police car) while an officer was on duty. It was not on the same night (January 8, 2008) that I witnessed the lights with my son.

WAS IT EARLIER OR LATER?

It was later. As a matter of fact, it was that Saturday (January 12, 2008). I had the privilege to see this video. I saw what the officer saw on video and this aerial object changed forms three different times. The first time, I believe he said it was about 2 AM when he first saw it. It’s a white glow moving very slowly in the sky. Then it changes from white to green to blue and red lights. It looks almost like a strobe.

. . .

I watch this thing in the police video and it appears to be some type of aerial object that is round. It changes from white to these different colors. The police officer says, ‘Keep watching,’ and I watched for approximately another eight minutes. And then this thing, right in front of my eyes, changes and it looks almost like a jellyfish. I compare it maybe even to a parachute – and now a very bright white. The green and blue and red is no longer flashing. It holds that shape for probably two minutes. And then to my surprise, it changes vertically like a line straight up and down.

Larry King on the Stephenville UFOs, part 1:

Click here for part 2. Larry King has been doing a lot of shows on UFOs recently, with two in just the last month. Here are the transcripts for the January 18 and January 24 episodes.

Texas UFO witness threatened?

The conversation grew “heated,” according to the Empire-Tribune report, and Sorrells says the caller stated, “Son, we have the same caliber weapons as you do but a lot more of them.”

The Empire-Tribune story quoted Sorrells as stating, “So I said if he was who he said he was, why didn’t he stop flying over my air space with all those helicopters. And he informed me that it was not my air space — it was his. He told me if I’d quit talking about what I saw he would stop the helicopters.”

. . .

Sorrells also reports he saw an intruder on his property at about 1 a.m.

He told reporter Joiner, “I was in bed asleep. I keep my bird dogs on the east side of my house and three others on the west side. The black lab doesn’t bark until someone comes across the cattle guard and the Catahoula doesn’t bark until she actually sees someone. They were all barking so I got up to see what was going on.”

Looking out his bedroom window at the top of his driveway, Sorrells spotted a man.

“I went around the bed and grabbed my rifle,” Sorrells is quoted as saying.

With Sorrells’ family sleeping inside, he carefully looked out and saw the intruder again.

“He had positioned himself in between the car and the pickup 40 to 50 feet from my back door. He stood staring at me rocking back and forth. I didn’t think his feet were moving but the next morning when looking at his tracks I could tell they were.”

Sorrells told the Empire-Tribune that he could clearly see the face of the man who appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s. The man was wearing a “heavy parka-like coat,” Sorrells stated.

Sorrells could not determine if the man had a gun.

“I’m trying to decide whether or not to open the door,” Sorrells is quoted as saying. “We’re just standing there face to face looking at each other. I’m thinking he’s dressed for the elements and the dogs are raising such a ruckus he must know he’s in danger of being caught. That’s when I realized he wanted me to see him.”

Texas reporter quits newspaper over censorship of the Stephnville UFO story:

An intruder had also appeared on his rural property at 1 a.m., causing the resident to be concerned about the safety of his family.

As Joiner was covering this more serious aspect of the UFO sighting case (in articles published Feb. 3 and Feb. 4) which appeared to be a law enforcement and criminal matter affecting public safety, she was reportedly told by newspaper management to back off.

“My directions were to move on to something else,” Joiner said.

Governor saw UFOs in Arizona sky:

In 1997, during my second term as governor of Arizona, I saw something that defied logic and challenged my reality.

I witnessed a massive delta-shaped, craft silently navigate over Squaw Peak, a mountain range in Phoenix, Arizona. It was truly breathtaking. I was absolutely stunned because I was turning to the west looking for the distant Phoenix Lights.

To my astonishment this apparition appeared; this dramatically large, very distinctive leading edge with some enormous lights was traveling through the Arizona sky.

Luminous UFO lands in Cerro Pie De Minas:

The event took place in the early morning hours of December 31, 2007 in the town of Mezcala, Guerrero. According to the news report from journalist Francisco Rangel, dated January 10, 2008, the phenomenon was observed by the entire town, cutting across all ages ranging from children to senior citizens and including mining engineers and laborers at the Los Filos gold mine.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that drivers halted their vehicles all the way to the Federal Highway in order to take a look at the intense light source that traveled across various parts of the locality at an estimated altitude of 300 meters. They describe a saucer-shaped craft that passed over the town square slowly and silently before landing on a hill known as Pie de Minas, where it emitted flashes for over 30 hours.

Is this a photo of a UFO in Mexico from 1927?

Mexico – Black objects surround Japanese airliner:

[A] Japan Airlines Boeing 747-400 was surrounded by 20 spherical objects in the San Mateo Air Corridor in the vicinity of the Satellite Towers in the state of Mexico. This report was provided to researcher Alfonso Salazar by technical personnel of the MCIA who had direct access to crew information. The airliner’s registration number is JA-880.
