The woman pictured above is supermodel Heidi Klum shattering minds and looking absolutely amazing in costume as the Hindu goddess Kali at her annual Halloween party. The tabloids, of course, tried to spin this as something we should be offended by, but personally I think she looks brilliant.
She’s clearly in tune with the spirit of the goddess.

‘Watchmen’ Ruling Favors Fox Over Warner Bros. By Access Hollywood!

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — In an unexpected ruling that was handed down on Christmas eve, a Los Angeles federal judge ruled that 20th Century Fox holds a copyright interest in the fanboy comic book movie “Watchmen,” the New York Times reported on Wednesday.
The movie has been shot already by director Zach Snyder (“300″) for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures and was set for a March release.
The release date of the film now remains uncertain.

On Christmas Day, we lost one of the most enigmatic, beautiful, intelligent and intriguing women of our time. The Infamous Ms. Eartha Kitt. She was 81 years old. I remember watching her first, of course, on “Batman” in her role as “Catwoman”- she inspired me to get a catsuit- and not be afraid of being a little bad. Even though at the time I didn’t know what the hell bad really was. She was sensuality, intelligence and beauty combined. And what an incredible voice. Ms. Kitt also sang the most famous version of “Santa Baby”……however, there is an Eartha Kitt that a lot of us did not know. The controversial side. She fought for South African rights, caused a disruption at a White House – at a luncheon with Lady Bird Johnson – she reportedly spoke out against the Vietnam War by saying- “You send the best of the country off to be shot and maimed. No wonder the kids rebel and take pot.” – which was rumored to have made the First Lady cry! ( YOU GO GIRL! ) This caused Eartha to lose many bookings in America, and lose some popularity- she kept on though- by mainly playing in European nightclubs. Ms. Kitt was of mixed heritage. An illegitimate child of her Mother, a Black Cherokee, and a White man. She endured abuse from black youngsters for looking “too white” -Eartha Kitt once said in an interview in South Africa, “What the hell! Things will get better. They’ve got to. Can’t let the bastards get us down.” An attitude I think we should all share!

Nerd Alert — “Watchmen” Movie in Jeopardy!!!

In a ruling that could delay the release of one of the most anticipated movies of next year — and subsquently send every fanboy leaping from the rooftops — a judge decided yesterday Fox does indeed own rights in the upcoming “Watchmen” film.
Long story short — Fox acquired the rights in the 1980s for producer Larry Gordon. After a few botched attempts to make the movie, Gordon partnered up with Warner Brothers. But, Fox argued, Gordon never acquired the full rights to the property from Fox — thus the lawsuit.

Nakagin Capsule Tower Looks to be From the Future, But Probably Won’t Make it There
The unique Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo is a futuristic-looking architectural marvel. But without local support for maintenance and preservation, it may not survive long enough for the future to see it.
Nakagin was built in the Metabolist style of the 1970s by late Japanese architect Kurokawa Kisho. The tower rises 14 floors and is composed of 140 individual capsules designed to be either apartments or business offices. RAIPUR, India (Reuters) – Indian police began a probe on Monday into reports that villagers in a tribal area of central India beat 50 women with sticks after accusing them of witchcraft, and cut off their hair.
The villagers acted on the advice of a local spiritual man who said the assault would protect them from evil spirits, in a forest in a poor district of Chhattisgarh state, 400km (250 miles) from the capital Raipur, police said.
Dozens of women are killed every year on suspicion of being witches or witch doctors in India, where superstition is widespread, especially in rural areas that lack an effective schooling system.
While there are few killings in Chhattisgarh, more than 100 women are tortured, paraded naked or harassed in the state every year, officials say.
